Dr. Wiederholz explains the importance of obtaining memberships to pain societies such as ASIPP. He talks about how ASIPP does well to advocate on behalf of pain physicians. One of the examples he gives is his visit with ASIPP to Washington D.C. to lobby various senators and congressman for Medicare to provide national coverage for the lysis of adhesion procedure, because there are several states where the Medicare advantage plan denies the procedure.
