I knew early on in my schooling that I wanted to be a pain physician and wanted to be able to provide my future patients with a well rounded approach to managing their pain. After attending medical school at the founding osteopathic medical school in Kirksville, Missouri, I completed an anesthesiology and critical care residency at St. Louis University, followed by an Interventional Pain Management fellowship at the University of Iowa. Prior to attending medical school I also obtained a Masters’ Degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota.
I am currently board certified in anesthesiology and critical care as well as interventional pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology. I have thus been provided with the tools to treat pain with a combination of osteopathic manipulation, injections, implantable therapies and medications. I am specifically interested in treatments for chronic regional pain syndrome, as well as management of implantable therapies including nerve stimulators and pain pumps. I have given lectures at national conferences and am involved with various anesthesia and pain societies in order to remain well versed in the best and most beneficial pain treatments for my patients.
In my free time, I enjoy volunteering at my children’s schools, running and spending time with my husband, four children, dog and two cats.
