Dr. Randall Kaye discusses his CNS Effects Study. This study studied the effects of tolperisone on drowsiness and cognitive function compared to cyclobenzaprine and placebo. In this study, which utilized a driving task to measure people’s functioning, tolperisone was no different compared to placebo, but individuals on cyclobenzaprine may pose a driving risk to themselves and others. Thus, tolperisone may be an effective therapeutic option for acute muscle spasms.
