Dr. Buchalter explains the pathology and symptomology of discogenic pain. This includes how to diagnose discogenic pain, differentiating it from impingement syndromes caused from disc herniation. He explains the importance of imaging to accurately assess the damage to the disc, such as CT in conjunction with discography. He talks about the multidisciplinary approach used at his clinic to treat discogenic pain. This includes conservative treatments, such as spinal decompression, and more aggressive approaches including intra-discal radiofrequency ablation and stem cell disc regeneration therapies.
