Biography

Dr. Louis Saeger, MD, is a highly accomplished physician specializing in anesthesiology and pain medicine. After earning his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, he completed his residency at the University of Washington, followed by an NIH fellowship in Pain Research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Dr. Saeger is Board-Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and is a World Institute of Pain Fellow in Interventional Pain Practice.
With a career spanning decades, Dr. Saeger has focused his expertise on spine-related pain, holding prestigious roles such as President of the Puget Sound Spine Interest Group and establishing the Interventional Division of the Midwest Spine Institute. His dedication to advancing pain management is evident in his involvement in groundbreaking research, including spinal biomechanics studies and award-winning work on amniotic fluid injections for low back pain.

Dr. Saeger has made significant contributions to the medical community in Minnesota, serving on various leadership boards and advisory committees. As a long-standing member of the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS) and other notable organizations, Dr. Saeger continues to lead and educate in the field of interventional pain medicine.

Recognized for his clinical expertise, Dr. Saeger has been honored in Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine’s “Top Doctors” from 2019 to 2024 and was named among “America’s Best Physicians” in 2024.
