Cutting Edge Stem Cell Research Transforming Spinal Pain Management
This presentation explores the transformative role of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in spinal pain management and regenerative medicine. MSCs, derived from bone marrow and other tissues, offer anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and regenerative benefits, making them promising for spinal cord injuries, disc degeneration, and chronic back pain. Despite encouraging results, challenges such as poor cell retention, donor variability, and harsh tissue environments remain. Innovations like scaffolds, nanotechnology, AI integration, gene therapy, and 3D bioprinting aim to enhance MSC survival and function. Exosomes and secretomes provide non-cellular therapeutic alternatives. While clinical adoption is limited, ongoing research highlights significant potential for future spinal repair and functional recovery.
