Biography

Dr. Neal Rakesh is a physiatrist and pain medicine physician. He specializes in interventional cancer pain management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine Center). Subsequently, he completed his Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at the Tri-Institutional Pain Fellowship (Weill Cornell, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Hospital for Special Surgery).

Dr. Rakesh is actively involved in multiple organizations including the World Academy of Pain Medicine United and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. He is also the co-founder of Ultrasound Underground, which focuses on teaching residents and fellows about diagnostic and interventional ultrasound.
