    Karina Gritsenko, MD

Dr. Karina Gritsenko presents an excellent overview of the diagnosis and treatment of knee pain. Dr. Gritsenko discusses the wide range of knee pain etiologies that guide differential diagnosis. She follows this with a discussion of conservative pain management, underscored by the orthopedic guidelines. Dr. Gritsenko advises on medications with level one evidence of safety and efficacy, radiofrequency ablation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and evidence-driven invasive procedures. Finally, she discusses new evidence in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research.

Andrea Trescot, MD, demonstrates cryoanalgesia (cryo) for several pain conditions on a cadaver at a World Institute of Pain (WIP) workshop in Miami, FL. Dr. Trescot mainly discusses performing cryo on the infrapatellar saphenous nerve for knee pain. She also discusses other applications including relieving pain from knee replacements, deep vein thromboses (DVTs), diabetic neuropathy, and phantom limb pain. She discusses the different nerves that are targeted for the different applications.

Join Andrea Trescot, MD, as she covers the ins and outs of cryoneuroablation to manage knee pain. She presents the indications for cryotherapy and explains the underlying mechanisms behind this technique. Dr. Trescot also gives her perspective on why the use of cryoneuroablation is resurging and why it’s a good idea to pair this technique with ultrasound.
