Dr. Gofeld explains how the two certifications, FIPP and CIPS, differ, and why a well-rounded pain physician should obtain both certifications. He discusses the importance of being proficient in the use of both fluoroscopy and ultrasound for any successful practice. He mentions the types of procedures for which each diagnostic modality is better suited. Dr. Gofeld also encourages those physicians interested in taking the CIPS examination to take at least two CIPS preparation workshops before hand, to ensure complete competency for the CIPS exam.
