Lessening of Drug Testing During Pandemic Strengthened Roots of Opioid Crisis
In addition to the millions of lives claimed by the coronavirus during the COVID-19 pandemic, another group of victims has emerged, suffering fates no less tragic. These are the users and abusers of prescription and illicit drugs alike, who—as a potential result of decreased drug testing born of the pandemic—have seen their overdose rates skyrocket in the ensuing months.
