Van Dongen – Headache – Interventional Management Including Occipital Nerve Stimulation
Dr. Robert Van Dongen discusses interventional pain management for headaches, including occipital nerve stimulation. He first discusses cluster headaches, including pathophysiology and treatment. He also describes methods and results from the ICON study published in Lancet Neurology in 2021, a study wherein occipital nerve stimulation was successfully used for headaches. However, this study does have some limitations.
