Stump pain and neuropathic pain

Have you had success treating this type of pain with RFA? I’ve performed two ultrasound guided selective CPN blocks that gave 36 hours of 100% relief. After RFA with parallel lesioning minimal success, any pearls or suggestions?

Is this only residual limb pain, or does this patient have a component of phantom limb pain as well? I am looking into getting Bioness peripheral nerve stimulation trial approved for my patient who has both, but primarily residual limb pain.

Combo of both actually…. she had traumatic amputation 10 years ago with neuropathic pain developing on the lateral aspect below the knee post amputation. She cannot wear her prosthetic due to pain. I originally did inferior lateral and superior lateral genicular nerve diagnostic blocks which were unhelpful followed by diagnostic blocks of the common peroneal nerve which provider 100% relief of her pain
