Biography

Craig T. Hartrick, MD, FIPP is a former Professor of Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology), Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, and Professor of Anesthesiology (emeritus), Beaumont Health System – Troy. He is currently Clinical Professor of Health Sciences at Oakland University. Dr. Hartrick is completing over a decade of service as Editor-in-Chief of Pain Practice as he transitions to the role of President-Elect for the World Institute of Pain. Professionally he serves as a chief consultant and president of Algosunesis, LLC (www.algosunesis.com).

After graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan State University, he received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. Postgraduate training included an internship in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Anesthesiology residency at Providence Hospital, and a fellowship in Pain and Regional Anesthesia at the University of Cincinnati under the mentorship of Professor P. Prithvi Raj.

Dr. Hartrick is currently serving as President of the World Institute of Pain through May of 2019.
